: forest revival), we believe in two key ideas. One is to revive domestic wild and rough forest, with efforts of everyone. The other idea is to use lumber that is produced from forest thinning and eventually aim to revive world forest for future.
We know that there is vast area of rough and dark forest, and many people tend to think that they can't do anything by themselves.
However, as one way of forest thinning, we do "KIRAMEKI", which is peeling the bark off a tree. We have noticed that anybody can do this, having a lot of fun.
As sustainable circulation system, we are suggesting “KIRAMEKI” (which in Japanese language means shining brightly and sparkling in the sun light). First, we peel the bark off some selected trees, and the trees would die, and the leaves go off the trees. Then, the light of the sun comes into forest. Those trees naturally would dry out thanks to the light and we cut the dried trees at lower level and carry them out, over our shoulders, for next use as lumber.
By using wood sawmill machines, which quite often are found to be unused/idle, we can produce some floor and wall boards that are necessary to build a house. No need to invest much money in equipment, so anybody can do this.
If a lot of people understand this system and get involved together, then we can approach a huge area of wild forest that has been left as a big country issue in Japan.
We are wanting to proceed with this “Kirameki” project, together with more people who believe in this and share the same ideas, in multiple forests at the same time.
